Yes, It Is Time To Lease New Cars in New York

buy a new car
New York City is the only city in the United States where more than half of the residents do not own a car. That is a stunning statistic, but to residents it might not seem like such a surprise if no other reason than that you feel the crunch on the overcrowded subway almost every day. About those subways, did you know that New Yorkers have the highest average travel time of any major city as well? At a 39-minute average (and creeping above two hours for residents of Queens, the Bronx and Staten Island), it would seem like more New York residents would be led to buy a new car to try and combat the time loss.

Truth is, owning a car in New York has been stigmatized for so long that many residents simply do not know how easy and affordable owning one might be, especially in those outer boroughs. In Brooklyn cars are a little more common than in Manhattan, and with an influx of families growing out of more financially secure residents in that disparate borough, cars look likely to grow in popularity throughout the city in the coming years.

Wheels To Lease—a Honda, Toyota and Acura dealer New York has trusted for decades—offers deals that would allow New Yorkers to lease new cars easily and in a way that would allow them to incorporate parking, gas and insurance into their monthly budgets easily. The key is offering the kind of transparent financing that makes shady car dealerships nationwide cringe. In New York people know if they are getting a raw deal. Explaining that they might be able to own a car without going bankrupt would be impossible if it was not true.

This being the greatest city in the world, far too many New Yorkers merely accept that not owning a car is a strike against living among the class, culture and diversity that is so vital in New York. This false choice should be struck from our collective psyche. Save for some inconvenient alternate-side-of-the-road parking laws, New York is easily navigated by car, and with the right car leasing deals, people are adding a little bit of convenience to their culture.

If you have considered yourself out of the market for a car as a New York resident, now is the time to reconsider. With all those folks not driving out there, the roads are sure to be friendly to your new wheels.

I couldn't agree with you more, especially with the cold fronts that have been coming through. New Yorker's should have cars. And they can get incredible leases - and stay out of the cold - with an online leasing marketplace called swapalease.com. If you're looking for a car, you can take over a current lease, and in some cases, only pay a monthly payment - no extra fees. Or if you want to get rid of your lease for a new car, you can swap the lease with someone else, or have someone else take over the payments. The marketplace is also enormous. The supply speaks for the demand, and the demand speaks for the supply.
